TRAVEL WITH - IRIS
In a few words, how would you introduce yourself?
I’m 22 years old, I live in Paris, and I’m a fifth-year student at EnsAD, specializing in textile and material design. I started modeling at the same time as my studies, and since then, one has continuously nourished the other, and vice versa.

What’s your first thought or gesture when you wake up?
I’m lucky enough to see the sky from my bed, and I always spend a few minutes watching the clouds drift by or the sunlight pour into the room before getting up.

What are your main sources of inspiration?
I draw a lot from painting, theater, and dance. A performance by Rachid Ouramdane recently left a deep impression on me—it was created with dancer Lora Judokaïte and was infinitely poetic.
Travel also fuels my imagination: a Greek landscape might inspire a weaving, and a photo taken in Japan might become a painting.
What does responsible fashion mean to you? Is it a personal commitment?
I think we may need to rethink our relationship with clothing—they hold symbolic, emotional, and memory-based value. Creating with high-quality, durable materials makes so much more sense.
Many of my clothes belonged to my mother or grandmother, which gives them a different status in my eyes. They’ve lasted over time, and I continue to take care of them.

Hydra in one word: which one and why?
Soak in. You spend your time absorbing everything around you—the color of the sky, the sounds and smells that shift with the seasons and return year after year. When I’m there, I feel the need to open my eyes wide and absorb every sensation.
A favorite or secret spot on the island? A place you love to retreat to, alone or with others?
On the way to Mandraki, there’s a small beach with an access path hidden behind the trees. Once by the water, you can spot a tree leaning over the sea, clinging to the cliff. It was dislodged during a storm a few years ago, but you can still see it from the beach. In the summer, the view of the sunset from there is breathtaking.
A must-try food spot in Hydra:
Ostria restaurant, “Chez Tasoula,” for the best zucchini fritters and grilled calamari!

Do you have any wellness or body-positive rituals that you practice daily?
I take dance classes several times a week—it’s what makes me feel good in my body and inspires me a lot as a model!
A place in the world you still dream of discovering?
I’ve never seen Giotto’s frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua. I’ve been dreaming of it for a while and hope to go there this year.
