What are your sustainable swimwear fabrics made from?
The fabrics used are OEKO-TEX® certified (free from harmful substances) and the majority of our models are made from ECONYL® (recycled yarn from plastic waste recovered from the oceans).
The liners are infused with natural antioxidants, Aloe Vera and Vitamin E, to soothe and nourish sun-drenched skin.
Where does recycled nylon come from?
The majority of our main fabric is made from ECONYL®, a 100% regenerative nylon made from abandoned fishing nets and nylon waste, sourced from oceans and landfills around the world.
This leads to cleaner oceans and swimwear that's good for your soul.
Is recycled nylon the same quality as regular nylon?
Yes, it's exactly the same. The quality of recycled nylon fabric is not compromised at all during the regeneration process. In fact, the nylon waste is recycled back to its original purity, meaning it's exactly the same as virgin nylon.
Do your swimsuits offer UV protection?
Yes! Most of our main fabrics have built-in SPF 50+ protection.
What is your lining made of?
The fabric used for each VANESSA SPOSI signature lining is a nylon microfiber that incorporates a 100% natural Aloe Vera and Vitamin E cosmetic to help the skin fight oxidation during the use of the garment, moisturize the deep layers of our skin, reduce the effects of time, restore cellular balance and prevent stretch marks.
What is an antioxidant swimsuit and how does microencapsulation work?
1. This technology selects the most suitable cosmetics for each function. These cosmetics are micro-encapsulated.
2. Microencapsulation technology, microcapsules are incorporated into the polyamide yarn during the spinning process; thus they are fixed in and out of the nylon filaments.
3. COSMETOTEXILE TECHNOLOGY The contents of the microcapsules are released when the garment is used in contact with body heat.
4. This technology provides cosmetic benefits to the skin while the garment is in use.
What are the MAIN CAUSES OF SKIN OXIDATION?
There are a variety of factors that can cause skin aging. Much of this “premature skin aging” is the result of free radical activity in the body. Environmental factors such as pollution and solar radiation generate free radicals in the skin.
What are the ANTIOXIDANT INGREDIENTS contained in the microcapsules?
Antioxidants are naturally occurring substances that can provide protection against the damaging effects of free radicals on skin cells.
The combination of vitamin E and aloe vera helps protect the skin from the effects of oxidation.
Vitamin E (tocopherol) is an antioxidant found in the skin and various foods, such as vegetables, seeds, and meat.
A true beauty nutrient, vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that protects the body from free radicals, boosts collagen production and soothes skin overheated by the sun.

What is your packaging made of?
We use recyclable and biodegradable packaging throughout our supply chain. Our mailing bags are made from plant-based materials like corn starch and wheat, replacing synthetic materials like petroleum. These bags decompose easily and can be placed in your compost bin. Our swimwear polybags are recyclable and recycled.
And all our packaging and hanging tags are made from recyclable paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
